Child seats in taxis: what does the law say?
In France, children of less than 10 years old must in principle travel in a suitable restraint device (shell, seat, booster seat). Special features of taxis : the regulations authorize a child to travel without an adapted seat (fastened with the belt, never in the front for the youngest) — but for safety, an approved seat remains strongly recommended, especially for babies.
Which device according to age
Usual benchmarks (ECE R44/04 or i-Size standard): rear-facing hull from 0 to ~13 kg, seat from ~9 to 18 kg, booster from ~15-18 to 36 kg (up to 1.35 m). The right device depends on weight and height more than age alone. Specify this information when booking so that we can prepare the appropriate equipment.
