How to pay for a taxi in France
In France, the price of a taxi is set by the official taximeter approved: support, price per kilometer and hourly waiting rate are regulated by the prefecture. The price displayed is binding. All taxis must accept the bank card ; cash, and increasingly Apple Pay / Google Pay are also taken.
Tip, receipt and invoice
The tipping is not obligatory in France (service is included): rounding up or leaving 5-10% for good service is appreciated but free. You can always request a received, and a professional invoice with VAT for business travel — useful for expense reports.
